ACN Legal Commitment Helps Ensure Success

by Robert T. Stephan

The Founders of ACN are committed to conducting business in conformity with state and federal consumer protection laws.  Independent Business Owners need to mirror the conduct of the Founders by conducting their business opportunity in an ethical and lawful manner.

It is important for each Independent Business Owner to be familiar with the rules set out by ACN in the conduct of their business.  The ACN Independent Business Owner Agreement and Policies and Procedures set out the proper legal procedure to be followed by Independent Business Owners.

Among other ethical and legal conduct set out by ACN, I want to point out a few areas of concern:

ACN & SLAMMING:

Slamming occurs when a customer’s telecommunications service provider is changed without the knowledge or consent of the customer.  All orders, both online and on paper, must be completed and signed by the customer only.

ACN INCOME REPRESENTATION:

Independent Business Owners are not to make any claim or inference to prospective Independent Business Owners as to the anticipated or actual income an Independent Business Owner might earn. ACN makes no guarantees of income, nor assurances of any profits or success. Success depends upon customer acquisition and the amount of services purchased by customers.

HYPOTHETICALS:

ACN has prepared hypotheticals to explain the compensation plan.  Only ACN-prepared hypotheticals are to be used.  A proper earnings disclaimer is shown.

ACN MARKETING MATERIALS:

Marketing materials must be prepared in accordance with state and federal law.  For this reason, Independent Business Owners must obtain prior written approval from ACN for any material created for their ACN business.

ACN has developed marketing and advertising materials that conform to legal consumer protection laws.  Because of this, ACN strongly discourages Independent Business Owners from creating and/or distributing any marketing materials.  The reason should be obvious.  ACN, in conjunction with recommendations from the Legal Advisory Committee, base marketing and advertising materials on proper legal procedures.

The cooperation of all Independent Business Owners in conducting their business opportunity in a manner consistent with legal requirements is the key to future success.
