  ACN Rules of Conduct

by Robert T. Stephan

The Co-Founders of ACN didn’t just sit around a table and dream up ideas to put in the Policies and Procedures and the Independent Business Owner agreement.  The rules that guide the conduct of Independent Business Owners are based on a careful study of existing law.  Compliance with the law is the cornerstone for success as an Independent Business Owner.

The rules of ACN cover many areas of conduct and every Independent Business Owner should read carefully the Independent Business Owner Agreement and the Policies and Procedures.  To violate the rules could result in deactivation.
ACN prohibits Independent Business Owners from making income claims.  Specifically the Policies and Procedures state: “Independent Business Owners shall make no claim or inference to prospective Independent Business Owners as to the anticipated or actual income an Independent Business Owner might earn.  ACN makes no guarantees of income, nor assurances of any profits or success. . .”

Independent Business Owners are not to create their own hypotheticals but must use those certified by ACN.  The reason for this rule is to make certain that representations are in compliance with legal requirements.  ACN provides the following disclaimer on all hypotheticals.  “This example is for illustrative purpose only and is not typical.  Success as ACN Independent Business Owner is not guaranteed, but rather influenced by an individual’s specific efforts.  Not all ACN Independent Business Owners make a profit and no one can be guaranteed success as an ACN Independent Business Owner."

ACN has adopted a zero tolerance policy toward slamming.  A slam is defined as any practice that changes a customer’s telecommunications service without the customer’s knowledge or consent.  If an ACN Independent Business Owner has been engaged in the slamming of a customer, his or her position will be permanently terminated and all Customer Acquisition Bonuses (CABs), Team CABs, commissions and payouts of any kind will be permanently terminated.

The rules set out in this article as well as all of the other rules set out in the Independent Business Owner Agreement and the Policies and Procedures are in accordance with consumer protection laws.  Protect your business and the business of all ACN Independent Business Owners by maintaining full compliance with ACN rules of conduct.
