  The Good Life

by Robert T. Stephan

What does “the good life” mean to you?  Some successful ACN Independent Business Owners will say the good life means having a family who brings joy to their lives; some will say that the good life means good health; some will say that it means having a big home and nice car; some will say that I have a good life because I have been able to make life better for others.

Whether you have them all or some of them, the good life becomes a reality if you lift someone up and use your good fortune to shine a light in the lives of others. For 29 years I was a public servant, serving as a Judge of the District Court in Wichita, Kansas and as Kansas Attorney General.  During that time I never accumulated any wealth but I had the opportunity to affect the lives of others in what I hope was a positive way.

That was one of the elements of the good life that I enjoyed and continue to enjoy. Living of oneself and sharing the gifts that we have are not only the keys to real happiness but what the good life should include.

Each ACN Independent Business Owner should strive to achieve the good life.  It is no secret that not everyone will achieve the same pinnacle of financial success.  But if along the way you not only provide a pathway for others to open the door of opportunity but do it with integrity and honesty, you will then contribute to the good life of others.

Each day of one’s life should consist of good deeds and sharing what we have with others. During a Sunday sermon my priest related a story.  He said Mr. Jones was a good Catholic.  Mr. Jones went to church every Sunday.  Mr. Jones died and went to hell for what he did on Monday.

The moral of that story is that you don’t portray the good sharing person one day and be a self-serving person the next day. Wrapping it all up into a bundle you should take all of your blessings and proceed to share honestly with others so that more and more people will know the good life.
